Who we are.
Jeremiah King has been studying dance since 1994 and has taught ballroom dance professionally for the last 17 years. He studied Classics and Dance at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he received a B.A. in Classics. He attended the American Dance Festival summer program at Duke University where he studied Modern Dance under Nicholas Leicter, West African Dance under Jerome Price, and ballet. He was a member of the UT Dance Company and has performed professionally with Circle Modern Dance, Ballet Gloria, the Knoxville Opera Company, and the Appalachian Ballet Company. Jeremiah currently teaches at Dance Tonight Knoxville, and one of his interests is making ballroom dance widely available to children and teens in the Knoxville area.
Brandy King is a Registered Nurse who holds a degree in nursing from the University of Kentucky and has been practicing nursing since 1996.She has a background in cheerleading and has choreographed for dance teams. In 2002, she began studying Ballroom and Latin dance and began teaching with her husband, Jeremiah, in 2004.
In 2004, Jeremiah and his wife Brandy formed Counterclockwise, a business focused on bringing the joys and benefits of Ballroom dance out of the dance studio into the Knoxville community.
